Why I Sold Everything to Travel Full-Time

It started with a one way ticket and a backpack.

I had a stable job, a nice apartment, and all the things you're supposed to want. But something felt off. Every Sunday night, I'd get this sinking feeling — not because I hated my job, but because I knew there was more out there.

The Decision

One night I sat down and did the math. My rent, my car payment, my subscriptions — I was spending thousands a month just to maintain a life that didn't excite me.

So I made a list of everything I owned and started selling it.

What I Learned

Letting go of stuff is hard at first and then incredibly freeing. Every item I sold was one less thing tying me to a place. By the end, everything I owned fit in a 40L backpack.

The road has taught me more in six months than four years of college. Not because college wasn't valuable — but because travel forces you to solve problems in real time, with real stakes.

If you're thinking about it, just go. The stuff will always be there. The experiences won't wait.
